A bird's-eye view of the Edge Inn. The Edge Inn is a nineteenth-century colonial building on an island in the south Pacific. It stands at the edge of a cliff, looking down over a lagoon that is inhabited by a native island culture that, to the surprise of the European colonists, is far more advanced than the white settlers themselves.
